Please join the Village of Oriskany and village engineer Jamie Kernan of Kernan Engineering for a presentation on managing stormwater and preventing water pollution in our community. The presentation will be held Tuesday, March 11th, 2025 from 6-7 pm in the village civic room on the second floor of the fire house (708 Utica Street).
Every year, the village sets stormwater goals as part of the Small Municipal Separate Stormwater Sewer System (“MS4”) program. The primary goal is to keep stormwater clean so that it can be returned to the environment without the intensive processing required for sanitary sewer waste. Stormwater management awareness can also benefit homeowners. Proper rainwater diversion can prevent flooding and rainwater collection can help lower costs for home gardeners.
This presentation will be an information session on general stormwater management and highlight stormwater pollution prevention as it pertains to the Village’s MS4 report. Mr. Kernan will also be presenting a draft copy of the MS4 Annual Report that is due to the NYSDEC on April 1, 2025. For questions, please contact the village clerk at clerk@oriskany.org.
